Proper Preparation Saves You Money!

You can find a list of my pricing options on my services and pricing page, but the best thing you can do to save yourself money is to follow these easy longarm quilting preparation guidelines.

~ Press the quilt top well and trim off dangling threads.

~ Make sure seams are secure.

~ Staystitch the outside edge to stabilize, especially with bias edges.

~ Make sure borders lie flat. I charge $20 to fix a ruffled border.

~ Prepare backing by making it at least 6 inches wider and longer than the quilt top.

~ Trim off selvages on backing seams to avoid puckering on your quilt top.

Feel Free to Contact Me with Questions.

It is always better to ask before, rather than after you have delivered your quilt to me. Be one of my favorite customers and call ahead with questions. It will save you money and avoid any delays in the turn-around time for your quilt.

A Little Behind the Scenes Look at Enchanted Desert Quilter

In addition to running the two Gammill longarm quilting machines in my studio and teaching quilting seminars at my local quilt shop Quiltique, I am active in my church, perform in a seasonal bell choir, and am a proud mother of four children, one beautiful grandson and two rambunctious - but loveable - purebred aussie shepherds.

Jordan, my oldest son, lives with his wife Raelene and son Reagan in sunny Claremont, CA. Jordan met Raelene in Italy while they were both serving missions for our church. Jordan is a second year PhD student in political philosophy and American government at Claremont Graduate University. In addition to the PhD Jordan and Raelene also own Belvedere Designs, a graphic design and home decor business that specializes in family stickers and vinyl wall quotes. As if that wern't enough, they are also raising the most beautiful grandson. Seriously. Ever.

Graham is an aspiring science-fiction and fantasy writer and lives in Provo,UT with several of his friends from his mission to Barcelona Spain. Here is his blog with book reviews and updates on his own work. He currently works as the receiving manager for a local Deseret Book and runs his own little car sticker business on ebay.

Ian just finished his first year as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Henderson Fire Department and enjoys playing as hard as he works. I am very proud of him and love hearing his stories from work over a nice sandwich from Capriatti's subs (a local sandwich shop which is a family favorite).

Moira is an aspiring photographer and recently set up a little website to display her work. She is taking classes at the College of Southern Nevada and does excellent work (In fact, she took the picture of Jordan's family in the link above) and will always put a smile on your face.

Here are some pictures of my aussie shepherds too.

A little Look at me

I really enjoy quilting and it is a blessing to be able to turn a hobby into a business. In addition to quilting I enjoy reading, cooking, working in my little garden, watching the finches in my backyard and traveling. Other than traveling to California to see my grandson, my favorite trip is to visit my daughter-in-law's family in Northern British Columbia. Her family owns a 5,000 acre cattle ranch and it is a blast to be the city-slicker helping hand and cook meals for everyone while they are doing the heavy lifting. I also enjoying trying new things and have recently been involved with the national conference for Austrailian shepherds. I am a breast cancer survivor and my daughter Moira has diabetes so I frequently provide my quilting services for quilts sold at charity auctions in the Las Vegas area (check out my upcoming events section to see when the next charity event will take place).
